What should happen to Buhari’s accusers, abusers now?

Hate speeches rode the airwaves on TV, radio and at political rallies as members of both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress freely dragged their presidential flagbearers’ names and character in the mud.
Some major media organisations (newspapers, TV and radio stations, and online media start-ups) pitched tents with parties or candidates and damned their rivals through sponsored news and adverts.
And there were individuals who played hate to the gallery; folks like Governor Ayo Fayose, First Lady Patience Jonathan, Yinka Odumakin and others. They abused and accused both General Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the APC, with an impunity that said neither of them would win the 2015 election.
But now that the Buhari-APC historic win has come to stay, where would the haters bury their shame? Below are some of the hate speeches that come to mind, and those who made them. This is a lesson for all politicians, indeed all Nigerians, to fumigate their words so they don’t infect our public space…

*Buhari will die before the election… Buhari at 70 wears diapers like my mother – Ayo Fayose
*Buhari is brain dead – Patience Jonathan
*If APC survives till October 2014, call me a bastard… Mark my words, it will not happen for Buhari to rule Nigeria – Doyin Okupe
*If APC wins, I will go on exile – Olabode George.
*Buhari can never win in Yorubaland – Gani Adams.
*Jonathan will shock APC with defeat – Femi Fani-Kayode
*If Jonathan loses, we would set Nigeria on fire – Asari Dokubo
*We instigated the six weeks postponement so that Jonathan could win – Frederick Fasehun
*I will deliver one million votes to Jonathan in Ondo State – Olusegun Mimiko
*We shall deliver Southwest votes to Jonathan – Afenifere
*Tinubu is no longer a force in the Southwest – Yinka Odumakin.
*Jonathan already has Lagos votes – Musiliu Obanikoro

If you were Buhari or APC party leader, Bola Tinubu, what would you do to haters like this? Please leave a comment.

  1. They should exhibit the Spirit of leadership which is their hallmark by letting them go except for financially corrupt ones.
