Dairy giant FrieslandCampina WAMCO, makers of Peak, Three Crowns and Friso brands of milk, has taken the campaign on adequate nutrition to secondary schools in the country.
The campaign is themed “Stronger Body, Sharper Mind” and delivered in line with the company’s School Adoption Programme through which FCWAMCO caters to the
nutritional, educational and infrastructural needs of 17 secondary schools across the six geo-political regions of the country.
Speaking recently in Zaria at the Government Day Secondary School, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Gbenga George, explained that FrieslandCampina WAMCO aims at developing schools as well as ensuring that Nigerian students are healthy and remain
sharp-minded well into adulthood.
He said, “Guided by our inspiring mission of nourishing Nigerians with quality dairy nutrition, we are committed to programs that help tackle the issue of malnutrition in Nigeria. Children need to drink milk to for improved nutrition that supports their overall well being. Also by adding good quality milk to their food choices, whether juiced or cooked, they get improved nourishment.”
During each school visit, students and their teachers were educated on the nutritious benefits of milk with practical demonstrations of how milk can be added to make exciting meals to nourish the body and support mental development. This was followed by table tennis, milk-drinking and quiz contests where students won exciting prizes.
FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC has been a necessary part of most Nigerian homes since 1954 through its iconic brand Peak Milk. It is a multinational manufacturing company and an affiliate of Royal FrieslandCampina of The Netherlands, one of the largest dairy cooperatives in the world.
