In yet another move that has left the Nigerian judiciary dazed, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court, was on Thursday April 20 arraigned on an eight-count charge of false declaration of asset.
Ngwuta is also facing fraud charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja. He was arraigned by the Federal Government at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Abuja.
But Ngwuta pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The defence counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN) did not object to the request for adjournment, but he applied orally for bail and got it for Ngwuta on self-recognition.
The case was adjourned till July 5 for trial.
