Since 2011, FrieslandCampina WAMCO has been leading Nigerians to celebrate the World Milk Day through exciting campaigns, including: ‘Drink Milk Every day and Do More with Milk’ to drive milk consumption and versatility in usage amongst consumers.
This year, FrieslandCampina WAMCO is celebrating the World Milk Day with the grand finale of an ongoing schools cook-with-milk 2017 Pecadomo Nutrition Contest to promote the health benefits of milk and draw attention to the importance of preparing healthy, nutritious meals.
The Marketing Manager, Mrs. Maureen Ifada, explained in a statement issued in Lagos: “To help reduce incidences of malnutrition, we are educating students on good nutrition so they can reach their peak.
“On World Milk Day June 1, participating schools will make a meal using milk. They will also prepare Peak Chocolate Smoothie with any seasonal fruit of their choice and write a Peak Nutrition Essay with a maximum of 150 words on the nutritional values of Peak Milk.”
Schools across Lagos State are already submitting entries (picture of planned meal, Peak Chocolate Smoothie and Peak Nutrition Essay) to firstname.lastname@example.org – entries closed on 26th of May 2017.
Top 10 shortlisted schools will be invited to the World Milk Day for a cooking showdown in the presence of judges made up of popular chefs, nutritionists, representatives from the Ministry of Education and members of the Peak brand team.
Ifada confirmed that the school children will win amazing prizes ranging from cash to educational material. Resource teachers of the winning schools will also be rewarded at the finals on World Milk Day.
