The master brand strategist with the rich baritone of a broadcaster Lampe Omoyele recently made an audacious move into new territory as Managing Director West Africa of The Nielsen Company.

Rather than manage particular brands as he has done for decades, Lampe would now provide insights as well as consulting services to various brands and corporates. His rich exposure would certainly enrich the consumer insights Nielsen unearths. Nielsen has footprints gathering data on consumer habits and choices across 100 countries.

Omoyele brings to bear in his new role cross cutting experience in marketing and sales management over a 25-year period. This includes roles as Africa Marketing Director-Family Nutrition, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Marketing Director, Nutricima, Marketing Director, Zain Nigeria and Marketing Director, Cadbury East and Central Africa.
Prior to this, Lampe worked several years at Cadbury Nigeria where he took on roles with increasing responsibility such as Brand Manager, Group Product Manager and Field Sales Manager and managed flagship brands such as Bournvita, Tom Tom and Knorr. A recipient of several awards, Lampe is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and was conferred with Chartered Marketer status by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) in 2009. He received the Marketing Society of Kenya’s Warrior award in 2007 for significant contribution to the development of marketing in Kenya, the 2011 Achievers Award of the (NIMN) and 2014 Marketing World ‘Industry Personality’ Award. He is 2 nd Vice-president of the Advertisers’ Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) and a member of the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria (APCON).
At Cadbury, Lampe was notably the Brand Manager in charge as the company rewrote the Product Life Cycle of one of Nigeria’s premier brands, Bournvita.
