Presenting the EKSU/CCCSP Alumni Certificate of Recognition to Lawal, the guest speaker at the occasion, Dr. Kunle Hamilton, President, Shaddaiville Ministries International, said: “This is a laudable initiative of the EKSU Alumni and it is meant to spur other students coming behind them to greater academic heights, starting with young Mr. Lawal.”

Lawal received cash pledges of N100,000 approximately in addition to his award certificate.

The EKSU alumni had a fun-filled day mixed with nostalgic memories of yesteryears. It was the ninth edition of their annual reunion and Shaddaiville Ministries International founded by their Life Patron, Dr. Hamilton, hosted the reunion in its Yaba, Lagos auditorium, The Ville.

Food, drinks, live gospel music amid Yuletide decorations defined the pomp and pageantry of the event. But first came some exciting red carpet moments. The alumni came from all walks of life, cities and states to reunite and celebrate after many years of going their different ways since graduating from the University of Ado Ekiti (now EKSU) where most of them first met.

Presently chaired by Temidayo Bada Oluwole, the Alumni body was established based on the yearning to stay together having all bonded as student-members of the Celestial Church of Christ Students Parish in the university. Their vision is to promote and protect tenets of the Celestial Church Of Christ at large, to promote family-relationship among members of the association, to maintain relations with current student-members of the CCCSP, to oversee their activities in areas of spiritual conduct, financial probity as well as provide assistance and scholarship to the needy and deserving student-members.

Following the announcement and presentation, the buzz word was that CCCSP Alumni had decidedly championed a laudable cause for the larger body of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide. The church, which when founded in 1947 in Dahomey (now Republic of Benin) by the late Rev. SBJ Oshoffa and even when it set up in Nigeria in the early 1950s, was predominantly illiterate.

Although the church boasts of quite a number professors today, academic excellence is still a reticent phenomenon among its teeming youth population. Therefore, what the CCCSP Alumni did to reward excellence would go a long way in inspiring tertiary education among Celestians and excellence among Celestial undergraduates, if replicated by other groups across the CCC spectrum.

Just like the Life Patron of the EKSU/CCCSP Alumni, Most Superior Evangelist Kunle Hamilton said, every alumnus agreed that they should all make selfless contributions of time and money to keep delivering on the ideals and goals of the association, especially in keeping up an exciting annual reunion, giving back to the CCCSP by supporting developmental projects, rewarding academic excellence, etc.

Organisers of the 2016 Reunion were applauded and a new set organisers for the 2017 Reunion were called out and prayed for. Sterling members of the association whose efforts added great value to the workings of the association were awarded certificates of recognition.

In-house choir of Shaddaiville Ministries, the ShaddaiEchoes, were guest singers at the reunion.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
