Against the hopes of well-meaning church members, Anita Oyakhilome, wants no part of her husband any more and has secured a permanent dissolution of her marriage to 52-year-old Chris Oyakhilome, Senior Pastor of Christ Embassy, in a court in the United Kingdom. They have two children, Charlyn and Sharon.
She didn’t just stop there, she insisted that her British lawyers, Attwater Jameson Hill Solicitors, must publish the news on their website. Below is the statement made by Anita’s lawyers:
“We have been requested by Anita Oyakhilome to confirm that on the 8th February 2016 a decree absolute was pronounced in the High Court of Justice Principal Registry of the Family Division dissolving her marriage to Christian Onehirokpeana Oyakhilome.”
It went further to state, “Anita Oyakhilome would like to confirm that she is no longer involved in or part of Christ Embassy AKA Believers Loveworld Inc.” [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][http://www.attwatersjamesonhill.co.uk/News/Anita-Oyakhilome.shtml – retrieved 19 February 2016].
Whether or not either Chris or Anita would re-marry is yet to be seen. Also shrouded in mystery is the kind of settlement that Anita prayed the British court for. If she had tried to divorce Chris in Nigeria where they both come from, she probably would have left the marriage with nothing.
It is assumed that Anita currently possesses British citizenship and with Christ Embassy registered in England and quartered at Loveworld Conference Center Cheriton High Street, Folkestone, Kent. CT19 4QJ, former Mrs Oyakhilome would know she could sue her husband for a lot of his stupendous wealth and get a very rich settlement in the UK where there is affirmative action in favour of women.
Anita once wrote on her blog: My story is not one of a bed of roses, far from it but I had a choice to either beat myself over the regret of tolerating abuse for so long or put a stop to the abuse and recreate my life for the best. My journey was not in vain. I can now help others realise that their situation does not define them.”
Although the marriage of Chris and Anita Oyakhilome technically ended a long time ago with their long years of separation, it was rumoured that allegations of pastoral philandering and the greed for too much money Chris-crossed between them, it is not clear yet on what grounds Anita finally got her divorce and for how much.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
